GAMBARAN PENGGUNAAN OBAT DIABETES MELITUS DI PUSKESMAS SOBO BANYUWANGI TAHUN 2024

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a group of chronic metabolic disorders characterized by impaired carbohydrate metabolism and hyperglycemia. Indonesia ranks fifth globally in terms of the number of DM sufferers, with a total of 19.5 million patients. This study aimed to determine the description of drug use in Diabetes Mellitus patients at Puskesmas Sobo Banyuwangi. This quantitative descriptive study was conducted in June 2024. Retrospective data was collected using DM patient prescription sheet data and presented as tables. The samples were chosen using random sampling technique and obtained using observation sheets. Data analysis was done using Microsoft Excel software, and the results were presented descriptively. This study was conducted on 131 prescription sheets that met the inclusion criteria, namely prescription sheets containing oral antidiabetic drugs and other oral drugs for DM patients at Puskesmas Sobo Banyuwangi in January - March 2024. The results showed that most patients were women, 89 (67.94%), aged 56-65 years, 58 (44.27%). The most widely used single oral antidiabetic drug is Glimepiride 2 mg of the Sulfonylurea group, with 63 prescription frequencies (24.05%). In comparison, the most widely used combination oral antidiabetic drug therapy is Glimepiride 2 mg + Metformin 500 mg with 23 prescription frequencies (8.78%). The most widely used other drugs in DM patients are vitamin B complex, with 51 prescription frequencies (28.18%), and Amlodipine, with 35 prescription frequencies (19.39%).
