Hyperthermia in children is an increase in body temperature above the normal range that is commonly associated with infection, inflammation, dehydration, and disruption of thermoregulation. If not managed appropriately, hyperthermia may cause discomfort, febrile seizure, dehydration, and hypovolemic shock. This case study aimed to describe the application of a combination of hibiscus leaf (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis) compress and virgin coconut oil (VCO) as a complementary nursing intervention to reduce body temperature in a child with hyperthermia. This scientific article was arranged as a case study using the nursing care process, including assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The respondent was a 5-year-old female child treated in the pediatric ward of RSUD Genteng Banyuwangi with hyperthermia and signs of hypovolemia. The intervention consisted of applying crushed hibiscus leaves mixed with VCO on the forehead and large-vessel areas for 15-20 minutes, accompanied by monitoring of vital signs, fluid status, and patient comfort. The intervention was administered over 2 x 24 hours with three applications and was conducted alongside standard medical management. The result showed a decrease in body temperature from 39.7°C before intervention to 37.4°C after the first application and 36.8°C on the second day. Improvements were also observed in pulse rate, blood pressure, skin condition, and patient comfort. These findings indicate that the combination of hibiscus leaf compress and VCO had a positive effect on reducing body temperature and can be considered a safe complementary nursing intervention for children with hyperthermia
